It is important to store your ebikes batteries properly in the winter to ensure they remain in good condition and continue to function effectively, let’s face it this was a big investment for your health and wellbeing.

It is important to keep the battery above freezing point during winter if stored outside, as the cold will reduce the capacity by up to 80%. Long periods at freezing point will drain the battery beyond recharging.

Always avoid storing the battery in a garage or shed where there is humidity and or heat as this could result in an unbalance of the cells and lead on to a fire.

It is always advisable to keep the battery charged at around 50-60% capacity when storing it for the winter. This will help to prevent damage and ensure that the battery is ready even if you decide to face the elements.

Chain And Gears
